Who we are - Achievements

Highspeed promoted the largest Japan-Bangladesh joint venture in collaboration with Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co Ltd in the year 1979 in the field of shipbuilding & heavy engineering and completed many large infrastructure projects including Petro Chemical Industries, Hydro Power plant and many specialized ships including barge mounted power station in collaboration with Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co of Japan.

Highspeed promoted the first IFC investment in Bangladesh from Washington DC in the year 1979 for the Highspeed Shipbuilding & Heavy Engineering Co with Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co Ltd of Japan.

Promoted a large joint venture in Deep sea fishing industry in collaboration with Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co Ltd and Central Fisheries Co of Japan in 1982-83.

Built the first two numbers of container terminals with Interbeton BV of Holland in 1986 under World Bank finance.

Successfully completed the construction of the 1st barge mounted power station of Jamalpur for Rural Power Company (RPC) under Asian Development Bank finance in collaboration with Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co.

Successfully completed the construction of 8 food grade grain carriers for FAO (UNDP) under Swiss Government Food Security Program. This is the 1st time that Bangladeshi shipyard participating against so many international competitors, and the project earned great fame as well as foreign currency for the country.

Bay Trawlers Ltd (BTL), a group company of Highspeed, constructed 5 deep sea shrimp & white fish trawlers and exported substantial quantities of marine foods and earned foreign currency for the country. In the process, a new 'Technology' was transferred to Bangladesh.
